Tofu Mozzarella

Preparation Time: 10minutes Cooking Time: 35minutes

Servings: 4 Ingredients:


1½ lb tofu, halved lengthwise

Salt and ground black pepper to taste

2 eggs


2 tbsp Italian seasoning

1 pinch red chili flakes

½ cup sliced Pecorino Romano cheese

¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

4 tbsp butter

2 garlic cloves, minced

2 cups crushed tomatoes

1 tbsp dried basil

Salt and ground black pepper to taste

½ lb sliced mozzarella cheese


Preheat the oven to 400 F and grease a baking dish with cooking spray.
Set aside.
Season the tofu with salt and black pepper; set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs with the Italian seasoning, and red chili flakes.
In a plate, combine the Pecorino Romano cheese with parsley.
Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat.
Quickly dip the tofu in the egg mixture and then dredge generously in the cheese mixture.
Place in the butter and fry on both sides until the cheese melts and is golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes.
Place on a plate and set aside.
Sauté the garlic in the same pan and mix in the tomatoes.
Top with the basil, salt, and black pepper, and Cooking Time: for 5 to 10 minutes.
Pour the sauce into the baking dish. Lay the tofu pieces in the sauce and top with the mozzarella cheese.
Bake in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until the cheese melts completely.
Remove the dish and serve with leafy green salad.
